Additional Pension Contributions (APC) / Absences

The option to buy Additional Pension Contributions APCs was introduced for the new LGPS from April 2014. APCs replace the previous additional contributions known as ARCs (Additional Regular Contributions). There are 2 types of APCs:

  • Buying Additional Pension
  • Buying ‘Lost Pension’

Both types of APCs use the same factors for calculating the cost and are payable in the same way. Please see the below factsheets for more information.
